I used regular cotton/poly Tshirts (I think they were Hanes brand) and acrylic paint. I let the paint dry with the shirts lying flat and the cardboard still inside to prevent bleeding through. Once dry they are good to go…. they have been washed and dried like any other shirt multiple times and still look great. It may not be the perfect method, but it sure worked for my zero-budget project and DIY cheerleaders Best of luck! Thanks for reading! Angela

What kind of t-shirt did you use because I know certain shirts will respond differently to the various printing methods and inks? Also were you able to dry the shirts in the dryer or did you hang them up to air dry?

I bought it from CraftEdge (they make the software), but just looked at their website again and they are o to version 3, which is NOT compatible with Cricut machines. You may still be able to get version 2 at this website: http://www.scrapbookcorner.com/scal.htm Good luck!

Thanks! I will look around for it, did you buy it anywhere specific? I’m sick of being limited to my small amount of cartridges, that are sooo expensive!

I bought “Sure Cuts a Lot 2″ software online. It was an immediate download and it’s super easy to use. No more buying Cricut cartridges, I can cut anything I want to Good luck! Thanks for your comment– Angela

Great Idea, I have a cricut and just do the basics with it. I would love to link it to another program, did you buy that one? Do you know of any other design programs that work with it?

I would have honestly just not have looked at the original piece twice and walked right by if I were to see it at a thrift store…but now, I will be keeping my eyes open.
