{"id":106,"date":"2011-03-08T12:00:07","date_gmt":"2011-03-08T18:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curiouscountrycreations.com\/craft-blog\/?p=106"},"modified":"2020-01-07T00:51:23","modified_gmt":"2020-01-07T07:51:23","slug":"salt-cedar-vase","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.curiouscountrycreations.com\/craft-blog\/salt-cedar-vase__106.html","title":{"rendered":"Salt Cedar Vase"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I love the beach.\u00a0 I love digging my toes into the sand, splashing in the waves, hunting seashells with my kids, <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1892 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.curiouscountrycreations.com\/craft-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/salt-cedar.jpg?resize=300%2C471&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"salt-cedar\" width=\"300\" height=\"471\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.curiouscountrycreations.com\/craft-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/salt-cedar.jpg?w=300&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.curiouscountrycreations.com\/craft-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/salt-cedar.jpg?resize=191%2C300&amp;ssl=1 191w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/>chasing seagulls&#8230;\u00a0 I love the sound of the ocean and could listen to waves crashing for hours.\u00a0 Reality check: I live in land locked Utah.\u00a0 *sigh*\u00a0 To make up for lack of proximity to my favorite vacation destination I have been adding some beach-themed decor to my house so I can enjoy it every day.\u00a0 A girl can dream, right?<\/p>\n<p>I am still working on the paint job in our main floor half bath, so I&#8217;ll have to reveal the whole makeover soon, but here is the first element.<\/p>\n<p>I took a simple square glass vase, wrapped some sheer fabric around it and secured it with hot glue.\u00a0 Then I wrapped twine around it, using a dab of hot glue on the backside of the vase after every wrap to hold it in place, and tied a simple knot to finish it off.<\/p>\n<p>I found these branches and they reminded me so much of the twigs and grasses that grow in the salty ocean air&#8230; no wonder, because they are called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curiouscountrycreations.com\/decorative-salt-cedar-p-272.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Salt Cedar<\/a>!\u00a0 A couple of bunches (5 to be exact) of those placed in the vase=perfect!<\/p>\n<p>Can&#8217;t wait to show you the whole bathroom makeover!<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"border: 0 !important;
