DIY Pussy Willow Wreath

Pussy Willow Wreath

We recently got our spring harvest of pussy willow into our warehouse. Excited for one of the first hopeful signs of Spring, we wanted to find a fun decorative use for them.

We happened upon a DIY wreath originally written by Better Home and Gardens.

It’s a simple wreath that would be a great addition to your front door this Spring to help welcome the warmer weather, blossoming flowers and all the green coming to life around you.

Items you’ll need:

  • pussy willow branches
  • wire cutters
  • birch branch wreath
  • wire

  1. The first step in making your pussy willow wreath is to cut down your branches, (which will arrive around 36-48 inches long) down to about 8-10 inches.
  2. The next step is to take your pre-cut willow branches and bundle them into bunches of about 8-10. Fanning out the branches as you bundle them.
  3. You’ll then need to use your wire to secure the branches together in their bunches.
  4. As tight as possible, attach your bunches of pussy willow to your wreath using the same wire.
  5. Continue this process around the entire wreath form until it is completely covered.

You may need to use any extra branches to fill in any blank spaces that may need a little extra.

Here are some other pictures of examples of how other people used pussy willow to create their own unique wreath.

Making your own wreaths is a fun way to add individual touch and design to your home or office. Even if crafting isn’t your “thing” or you have a hard time putting together natural products, a wreath like this is a great place to begin. Simply giving your wreath little additions, such as the moss, other dried leaves or even the Easter eggs will give your homemade wreath a personal touch.
