Cotton Bolls

Cotton Bolls are mother natures natural cotton balls. They are great to put on branches to create Cotton stalks (cotton branches). They also can be put in any decorative bowl or vase or used in any craft project for a great look and cotton feel.
Looking like white cotton candy, the cotton boll is an almost unbelievable naturally grown product. The natural cotton fibers grow inside the boll until they expand in the warm sun and burst the boll open. Our bolls are then picked, preserving the boll pod with the cotton ball intact.
There are many uses for the cotton boll. A large jar or bowl filled with the fluffy cotton bolls makes a lovely display for bookshelves, display tables, countertops or desks. The bolls can become part of a nature filled wreath, garland, swag or topiary.
The cotton can be removed from the boll, and spun into yarn or thread using a simple drop spindle. The remaining burr is decorative and can be used for embellishment on wreaths, to frame pictures or mirrors, or to add texture to a display bowl or potpourri dish.
